Rural News: Further guidance regarding delinked payments released

As confusion still persists amongst many farm businesses and in advance of today's final BPS deadline, DEFRA has released updated guidance.

"The updates from DEFRA are a welcome site for many", says to Charles Raine, Director based in our Hexham Mart office. "Our team has received numerous inquiries regarding delinked payments as we have completed this year's BPS claims."

With the delinking of BPS funding from 2024, no land will be required to set a claim. Consequently, claimants can stop farming completely while still receiving a delinked payment up until 2027 (payments are based on the value of BPS for the reference period years 2020 to 2022 and have been progressively reduced since 2020).
