Tom is an Associate at youngsRPS and is based in our Northallerton office. Since graduating from Harper Adams in 2003, Tom has worked for several regional and national property specialists carrying out valuations and rural professional work across the wider North East and Yorkshire regions.
He is a rural property valuation specialist encompassing renewables and diversification projects, as well as being a respected and experienced valuer for loan security purposes. He regularly provides Red Book reports to assist a wide and diverse client base with taxation (APR/BPR/ATED/Rental/POAT), accounting, Charities Act (including churches) with particular expertise dealing with high value, and country, houses, estates and let property portfolios, and let land and property subject to AHA, FBT, Rent Act and Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 tenancies.
He has been an appointed Agent for the Agricultural Mortgage Corporation (AMC) since 2007 and is experienced as an Expert Witness providing reasoned, independent opinion as both a retained adviser and under Single Joint Expert appointment.
In addition to valuation expertise, Tom has extensive experience across a wide range of rural professional services including rural Agency and investment, compulsory purchase and compensation and telecoms.
Having been brought up on a small farm in Devon and then in Northumberland, Tom has settled with his family in North Yorkshire. He enjoys property renovation projects, cooking, gardening and hill walking; having undertaken the National Three Peaks Challenge in aid of his son’s support charity, Dravet Syndrome UK in 2017.
