Get to know our current rural graduates (and intern) as they bring you all the information from inside this years Northern Farming Conference.

Emily Richardson

Emily joined us in July 2022 after graduating from The University of Nottingham and has been working closely with Jim Thompson and Joanne Metcalfe on various client projects from our Sedgefield office. A farmer’s daughter from Bedale, North Yorkshire, Emily knows first hand the issues facing farming and is particularly interested in the future of our agricultural industry and our nation’s food security.

Emily is currently working towards becoming a professionally qualified Fellow of the CAAV, and a Chartered Rural Surveyor with the RICS.

Will Jeffels

Will is currently midway through his years placement with us and assisting our Hexham rural team. Will has thrown himself into the role assisting with land surveying, valuations, estate management, field mapping and landlord and tenant matters. He will be returning to Harper Adams in the summer to complete the final year of his BSc Rural Enterprise and Land Management. Will is a keen basketball player and farmers son from an arable farm near York.

Ben Gargett

Ben is a graduate of Nottingham Trent University and was initially drawn towards the residential side of surveying. After completing a year placement, he quickly realised that his career lay in the countryside. Ben comes from an equestrian family and grew up not far from our Sedgefield office. Since joining youngsRPS in June he has experienced dealing with utilities claims to environmental stewardship subsidies, agricultural sales to valuations, and everything in between!

Ben is currently working towards becoming a professionally qualified Fellow of the CAAV, and a Chartered Rural Surveyor with the RICS.
