Home About Blog Residential News: Yorkshire bucking the house price trends
Yorkshire houses property market

The latest stats from Rightmove say that average asking prices were almost flat in February nationally, with the smallest increase from January to February on record, confounding expectations that values would fall. However, Yorkshire and Humberside region have bucked this trend with steady increases recorded in the February House Price Index, published by Rightmove, explains Fiona Roe, Sales and Lettings Manager based in our Northallerton office.

"The slowing down of the market has resulted in some slightly tougher conditions for some areas of the country but the Yorkshire & Humberside region has seen both a monthly percentage increase of 1.9% and a year on year increase of 5% on average house prices. Propelled by the traditionally busy new year period, settling mortgage rates and more realistic pricing, the amount of homes coming to market has also increased, opening up more opportunities for those in a position to buy.

The average cost of a home in Yorkshire and Humberside listed on the Rightmove portal climbed to £239,752 this month.

Property coming to market with youngsRPS Northallerton has also increased, alongside buyer enquiries and demand remains high, especially from first time buyers and those aiming to escape increasing rental costs and purchase property of their own. A good indicator for the approaching spring selling season."
