YoungsRPS, a prominent name in rural property and land consultancy, is taking the lead by offering a series of free Sustainable Farming Incentive Drop-In sessions throughout October.

Aimed at farmers and landowners in Hexham and the surrounding area, these sessions are set to provide valuable insights into the various incentives available to support them. Sessions will take place on Tuesday’s and Friday’s throughout October between 10am and 4pm at youngsRPS’ Hexham Mart office. No appointment is necessary.

The Sustainable Farming Incentive:

The Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) is a flagship program introduced by the UK government to reward farmers and landowners for adopting sustainable practices. It serves as a key pillar of the Environmental Land Management Scheme (ELMS).

Drop-Ins Highlights:

  • Identify type of farm and your ambition.
  • Exploring SFI: A comprehensive breakdown of the Sustainable Farming Incentive will be provided, including its objectives, eligibility criteria, and how it integrates with other schemes.
  • Practical Guidance: Attendees can expect practical advice on how to integrate sustainable practices into their farming operations. Topics will range from crop rotation and soil health to wildlife conservation and agroforestry.
  • Financial Benefits: One of the key attractions of these drop-ins will help explore the financial benefits of participating in the SFI. Participants will learn how they can access financial support to implement sustainable farming practices.

As farmers and landowners grapple with the dual challenges of ensuring food security and protecting the environment, programs like the SFI offer a ray of hope (once you know how best to take advantage of them). These drop-ins will help to equip participants with the knowledge they need to embrace sustainable farming incentives and play their part in building a more resilient and eco-friendlier agricultural sector. Whether you're a seasoned farmer or a new landowner, these Drop-In sessions are an opportunity not to be missed, as they hold the key to a brighter and more sustainable future for agriculture.
